Manufacturing in Europe is being reshaped by digitalisation, supply-chain shocks and the green transition, yet innovation campuses are still largely treated as real-estate projects rather than instruments of industrial policy. Drawing on field research in the Basque region, Øresund and the Amsterdam–Delft–Eindhoven triangle — over fifteen agencies, clusters, universities and campus operators — this contribution reframes campuses as hybrid spatial infrastructures that actively shape manufacturing resilience. It asks what the three models mean for the Vienna–Bratislava cross-border region, where geographic proximity has yet to become functional integration.
