BANSKÁ BYSTRICA SELF-GOVERNING REGION
ABOUT US
The Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region (BBSK) actively supports the development of innovation and the growth of the region's innovation potential. Through strategic partnerships, building innovation infrastructure and connecting the public, academic and private sectors, BBSK creates an environment where new ideas, technologies and business solutions can emerge. The region focuses on developing talent, entrepreneurial thinking and idea incubation through its unique Welcome Hub concept, supports digitalisation and green technologies, and backs the growth and acceleration of startups through the activities of its Innovation Centre, while actively connecting all stakeholders. It is through these activities, coordinated by the BBSK Innovation Centre, that the region strengthens its competitiveness. The goal is for the Banská Bystrica Region to become a centre of modern solutions that deliver sustainable development and a good quality of life for its residents. Innovation is the path to prosperity, and BBSK is actively shaping that path.
