ABOUT US
BARANI DESIGN is a Slovak company that turns aerospace know-how into durable, easy-to-use weather sensors and micro-stations. Our devices meet, and often exceed, WMO standards while requiring only minimal calibration, so they can be deployed anywhere from mountain farms to city rooftops. Thousands of them power high-density networks across Europe, supporting agriculture, aviation, smart city projects and road safety. New products such as the wireless MeteoHelix and easyMETAR are improving safety at small airports.
OUR ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CONSORTIUM
BARANI manufactures innovative environmental sensors and is a recognised leader in the weather sensor industry. BARANI's laboratory calibrations meet or exceed the highest industry standards, and its field performance, with significantly lower measurement uncertainty, is setting new benchmarks. In the STICS project, our goal is to develop, test, manufacture and install a set of sensors for the urban environment, including our patented Dual-Black Globe thermometer for measuring heat stress, and to complement it with NB-IoT telemetry, with pilot installations in the smart eco village of Horné Srnie.
BENEFITS OF OUR OUTPUTS AND TARGET GROUPS
We will design, test and install new sensors in pilot areas such as Horné Srnie. Data from these installations will generate environmental indicators, including heat load on people and animals, meteorological readings and other metrics, and together these will drive research and the development of the smart eco village while providing timely, actionable information for decision-makers.
