ABOUT US
SAPIE is an independent organisation representing 200 companies and supporting the development of the knowledge economy in Slovakia. It focuses primarily on building an innovative ecosystem in Slovakia and the wider Central European region, helping businesses with digital transformation and the adoption of innovation, supporting educational institutions in teaching innovative and technological trends, and drafting recommendations on digital and innovation policy in Slovakia and at EU level.
OUR ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CONSORTIUM
• Leading Work Package 5: Market Creation
• directly responsible for the following tasks and deliverables:
• T5.6 Acceleration, commercialisation and scaling = a report on the acceleration programme setting out the outputs: the business models created and the KPIs achieved by the supported startups
• T5.7 Identifying new use cases and business models = a hackathon report presenting the ideas and business models identified
• T8.3 Activities in drafting and advocating policy recommendations = D8.3 A white paper containing proposals for improving public policy
BENEFITS OF OUR OUTPUTS AND TARGET GROUPS
1. Supporting innovative solutions and business models designed within the STICS project or by actors outside it, and scaling them on the market. Target group: innovative teams designing new solutions for cities and municipalities
2. Drafting recommendations to improve innovation and regional development policy. Target group: the relevant state and public administration bodies

What do you expect from the STICS project?
I expect the STICS outputs to deliver innovative and sustainable business solutions for implementing innovation in towns and municipalities. These will improve public services, advance sustainable energy, strengthen safety and make local government more efficient. The project will also help improve public policy and strategy in innovation and regional development.
Who will be able to use your outputs, and when?
The outputs we contribute to are aimed primarily at companies and universities working on innovative solutions, which we will support in their acceleration and commercialisation. We will also support cities and municipalities in improving their strategies and development plans. Through our outputs we will likewise support the central government bodies responsible for innovation and regional development policy.
